The Top Ten Most Romantic Restaurants for Valentine’s Day
The Top Ten Most Romantic Restaurants for Valentine’s Day!!
First, let me begin by saying that these are in no particular order–and these are my favorite restaurants. Let me also say some of the romantic dinners I’ve had here have been with myself. Why? I’m single, that’s why and I think one should treat oneself every now and again. 🙂
So here they are… in no particular order.
First, is Madison on Park in University Heights. This is where the old Lei Lounge use to be. The owners have given this place a new life and the menu has a new life as well. It’s cozy and you feel good about being there. The craft cocktails are spot on.
Second is Seasons 52. I’ve been to the one at the Headquarters near Seaport Village and the one at UTC. I don’t think you can go wrong with either. I like this restaurant and it’s warm atmosphere. They also have an amazing wine selection and if you have something special… like a proposal, the staff is very accommodating and will help you out.
If you’re looking for some good prime rib–Bully’s East gets my nod. This is an old school restaurant located at the bottom of Texas street in Mission Valley. It’s dark and has a very warm feeling. Wine for dinner and an Irish coffee for desert. You can’t go wrong.
Juniper and Ivy in Little Italy is amazing–I think, especially if you enjoy fish. There are different varieties of seafood on the menu. If that doesn’t strike your fancy. Head next door to The Crack Shack. You can’t go wrong with a 5 piece chicken dinner with coleslaw and biscuits.
Herb and Wood– just down the street from Juniper and Ivy has a very moderately priced menu that offers a variety of foods. The space has a very artistic flair and is a very open inviting space.
Coastera on Harbor Island offers a beautiful fine dining experience with wonderful views of the bay. If you’re looking for a truly romantic experience this is the place for that. In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with a Deborah Scott restaurant.
Bertrand at Mr A’s. The view off the patio facing west is amazing. It will be a little nippy on Valentine’s Day though, so you’ll have to bundle. They will have heaters on the patio. This lovely steakhouse in the heart of Banker’s Hill has mouthwatering food and breathtaking views to the west. On the high side of pricing–you for sure won’t be disappointed though.
Kettner Exchange you just go to for the experience. Just sit at the bar–the bartenders will amaze you with the way they make a craft cocktail. It’s like watching poetry being written. This is very open inviting atmosphere. The upstairs bar offers a lot of open space and plenty of people watching.
The Prado in Balboa Park is one of those restaurants that you can not go wrong with. First, it’s situated in one of the most elegant settings–it also offers a variety of foods and the drink menu is amazing. Top the evening off with a stroll around the koi pond or head down to Extraordinary Desserts just down off 5th Avenue.
Finally, travel up the coast to the Marine Room. This is probably the most beautiful romantic restaurant I’ve ever been to. The waves crash on the windows making for a beautiful westerly setting. You can’t go wrong.
Wherever you choose to go, I hope the day brings you lots of romance.
