San Diego Housing Market for December 2017

The San Diego housing market saw some slight gains from November to December.  The median price for a home in San Diego county in December is $539,000.  That’s up just slightly in November from $537,150.

Homes well priced are moving off the market quickly.  The average days on market in December remains pretty steady at 36 days.  A good indicator to see if your home is over priced is taking a look at how long the home has been on the market.  The only exception to this rule would be if your home falls in the luxury market.  Then it could be on the market for up to six months.

The average price per square foot is $380.  Again, this all depends on the product you are bringing to the market.

Right now what we are seeing move quickly are homes that are upgraded and are for the most part move in ready.  Buyers are willing to do a little work on homes however many new buyers aren’t in the mood for a total remodel.
