There is mortgage assistance for those impacted by recent natural disasters.  That according to Fannie Mae.  If you’re impacted by the recent wildfires.  On Tuesday, President Trump did declare federal money to be sent to the areas affected by the wildfires.

In major disaster areas, according to FEMA, your mortgage company is authorized to suspend mortgage payments for up to 12 months, waive assessments, penalties and fees, suspend reporting mortgage loan delinquencies to the nation’s credit bureaus.

Right now, if you go to FEMA website the information has not been updated to show the disaster areas in California.

The numbers and is ever changing.  What we do know is that the Thomas fire has burned 50,000 acres and 27,000 people have been evacuated from their homes.  The Creek and Rye Fires have burned 16,000 acres.

I’ve been following CNN for the latest updates on the California Wildfires.  If a state of emergency is declared, I will follow up this blog with updates.
